R.I.P. Frank Frazetta
Devastated by the news of the passing of Frank Frazzeta this week, he was the man that made me put pencil to paper and start drawing, I remember seeing books of his art in the bookstore when I was 7 years old, they were wrapped in plastic (because of the occasional naked women in his paintings) but once being drawn into the cover art, I had to get past the plastic to get inside.Life was never the same afterward, after seeing the worlds he created, I knew that was something I needed to try to be a part of.
He has influenced the last 2 generations of artists and many more to come, the world will be a less colorfull place without him here to show us his epic world of muscled heros, voluptuous damsels, and terrifying beasts

Sunshine state art show

have'nt added anything new in a while, busy, but- here is my entry into the latest show at the Bear and bird gallery, the theme was tough, started out with an idea for a painting of the florida skunk ape, but whenever I told people of my idea they would just scratch their head and say "Whaa ?" so I switched to evil Mickey (he lives in Florida) but, when I got to the show, there were 4 skunk ape paintings, although, there was also 2 other Mickys.

British Steel
Went to see Judas Priest this week, the only thing I like better then a concert is a free concert, went with my ex brother in law who insisted on paying, Preist is still as good as ever, played the whole British Steel Album, then a good pick of other hits, Whitesnake was a no show, they said Coverdale blew out his voice, I say he did that about 15 years agoMonday, August 17, 2009
Pity the Prawns
Saw District 9 this weekend, and I approve, good story, great special effects, a real sci fi movie not a lackluster blockbuster popcorn movie ( Transformers), dealing with xenophobia and a heavy handed analogy of apartheid with aliens, amazed how at first the bug creatures are disgusting, and quickly the human are the detestable ones and you feel sympathetic for the Aliens. so to honor it, did up a quick sketch and colored it in on the computer
